An institutional publication

A department,
in eight pages.

GeoPulse was intended to share the Earth & Climate Sciences Department’s work with partner research institutions in India and abroad. The issue brought research, fieldwork, interviews and department news into a single publication.

I designed the complete newsletter: page organisation, layout, colour, hierarchy and the way text and images sit together. Contributors supplied the writing, photographs and scientific material.

Working with contributors

Making many parts
read as one.

The central challenge was bringing material from different people into a coherent format. Interviews, research summaries and images arrived with different structures and priorities.

The design developed through back-and-forth feedback with contributors. I revised the layouts while maintaining continuity across the issue, so individual contributions could remain distinct without the publication feeling fragmented.

Print and circulation

Beyond the screen.

The issue was printed and inaugurated by the IISER Pune director. Printed copies were circulated to partner institutions in India and abroad, and the newsletter was also made available through the department’s website.

Editorial design and complete layout by Naityik Singh. Writing, photographs and scientific content by the department’s contributors.

The publication

eight-page issue.
